![]() Inspired by occultist naturism, animism, supernatural and strange phenomena, the 2022/23 Niche Pyre snowboard is a celebration of divination and occultism in relation to nature itself. This winter, should you find yourself feeling rather spooky and otherworldly, perhaps the graphics for the new Pyre will strike a chord with you. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort during the long, dark winter. In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. Featuring a couple traction bumps as it tapers to a mini swallowtail, you'll love the smooth transitions in and out of your turns. On the night of October 31 they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. The Niche Pyre Snowboard is a blunt-nosed powder blaster that handles chop and edges groomers just as well. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. This day marked the end of summer, the harvest, and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago, mostly in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. Halloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. We hope this Halloween season finds you safe and healthy, dear friends. 2018/19 SNOWBOARD REVIEWS Niche Pyre 150 Snowboard Review 2018-2019. Possibly unwatchable for some… Have you left the lights on? Good. His findings were both beautiful and unsettling. Pipe isn’t ideal but doable if the edges are sharp.Today, we have chosen to release this disturbing footage gathered by one of our own, who barely managed to escape with his life intact. It has a very stable easy approach to most jumps. It can still hit small kickers and get air on small to medium natural features on the mountain easily. Getting Air/Park: The Niche Wraith really shines in the jib park and it really has a lot going for it there. Uneven Terrain: Ok and damp enough to absorb enough underfoot but not ideal for hammering through uneven snow all day. Speed: a little soft and messy but better than you would think. Powder: not so good for a short twin with not so much early rise. Turning Experience/Carving: Good for a jibber but far from good if you compare it to something like the Crux. ![]() It doesn’t protest too much though when you really want it to go somewhere. Turn Initiation: There is a little delay when initiating a turn for a board this length and it likes to track straight more than make quick edge to edge turns. It tracks well one footing and flat basing though.Įdge Hold: The Niche Wraith fresh out of the wrapper has pretty good edge hold but it let’s go a little easier than the Crux and especially so with the Aether. It felt like it could catch an edge easy even with the mellow camber to a touch of early rise in the nose/tail. ![]() On Snow Feel/Ability Level/Skidded Turns: The Niche Wraith is soft but it feels technical to us. There is easily accessible pop to it as well. Zobel and Jimbo would prefer the next size up for their 11’s.įlex/Buttering: Such an easy buttery ride and the flex in the shop matches how easy it is to butter on snow. Sizing: The 152 rode bigger than it’s size and it matched up well with my specs. Centered.Īpproximate Weight: Feels normal for the length. Similar Boards (but not the same): Rossignol Jibsaw, Lib Tech Box Knife, Yes Jackpot, Never Summer Funslinger, Ride TwinPig, Signal Park, Insoles: Sandsole Custom Insoles, Footprint Insole Technology Gameghangers Low Profile How This Review Happened: We borrowed this for an extended demo and then returned it.Ĭonditions: Pretty good spring conditions.
